The Luistervink (officially the Philips Type 37A) was a simple radio receiver produced around 1944-1945. The set did not have a conventional tuning dial but operated on a fixed wavelength, allowing listeners to switch only between the officially permitted stations, Hilversum 1 and Hilversum 2. As a result, the occupying authorities could not tell whether people were secretly listening to prohibited broadcasts such as Radio Oranje, the Dutch government-in-exile’s radio service from London.
